For nature lovers, the adventurous at heart, or for
those who long
to
experience life from a completely different
perspective, the over
whelming
beauty and riveting splendor of the Sinai is something
that
must be seen to be believed. The Sinai Peninsula has
long since
played an important role in the history of mankind. It
is therefore no wonder that this naturally magnificent
region contains
so many exciting sites and pleasurable activities.
From the earliest days travellers have known it
as a rugged, untamable, barren
land, filled with natural wonders yet impossible to
fully explore.
Geologically the Sinai is the product of a natural
disturbance emitted
from the earth's crust. It consists of two main
regions; the northern
region being made up mostly of sandstone plains and hills,
and the southern section, which remains thoroughly
Mountainous.
Exploration, safaris and trekking within these areas have
now been made possible due to modern technology and meticulously
trained tour guides.

The
Sinai is the home to one of the world's most beautiful
Mountain ranges,
set amongst an equally impressive desert landscape. The
chocolaty, caramel colors seem to melt into each other
to form these
rocky formations. Camel riding through this
bewildering color scheme
is a heavenly delight, whilst sleeping here under the
stars is
another. Within this-area is Mount Sinai, the Mountain
where God
gave Moses the ten commandments. This Mountain is
perfect for
climbing in order to take in the spectacular view
after reaching its
peak. Also next to Mount Sinai is St. Catherine
Monastery. Exploring the desert pools and hot natural
springs, the age old turquoise
mines, or one of the many serene desert oasis, amidst this
beauty is truly a treat. Camping and living with
Egypt's bedouins is
another unforgettable experience. Virtually
uninfluenced by the modern
world the Bedouins have existed in the Sinai region
for over
five centuries. Their name originating from an Arabic
word ba'adiya, meaning desert. Originally they
acted as guides and protectors
for Christians making pilgrimages to the monasteries
|
scattered throughout Southern Sinai, and later to
Muslims
making
their pilgrimage to Mecca. The Bedouins consist of several
tribes that each occupy their own territories, and hold
within themselves rich folkloric beliefs and customs. Having
wandered around the Sinai area for countless years the
traditional dress of these nomadic desert people add splashes
of color next to the arid land. Just as glorious are
the undescribable sunrises and sunsets to be
witnessed; as the region becomes aglow with all
of the yellows and oranges
found within the color spectrum. To get away and feel
invigorated, a jeep desert safari is definitely the
answer for
the fun loving. Exploring these desert areas on safari
is sometimes the only way one can become
completely immersed
by the breathtaking beauty.

| The
Western Desert is one of the most pristine regions in Egypt
which makes it an area begging to be explored. Imagine
long stretches of uninterrupted desert, a clear sky and
small villages speckled throughout the vast landscape,
of which are the homes to the friendliest of
people. Also spotted
throughout the Western Desert are numerous grandiose land
forms, such as the Valley of the Melons, where you
will find
huge circular boulders scattered throughout the desert
floor. Between Kharga and Dakhla you will come across
a valley
of hills resembling the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Between Farafrah and Bahriyya you will find
white chalk figures varying
in height, surfacing from the desert sands. They are wondrous
to walk among. Climbing a sand dune is also definitely
something to bet experienced in these regions.
Just
when you feel like the desert consumes all forms of
sustaining life you will find several impressive
oases. The
Kharga, Dakhla, Farafrah, Bahriyyah and Siwah oasis all
contain their own personalized appearances that are
all looked upon as nature's charming
phenomenon.
Thousands
of adventures, activities and experiences are waiting
to take place in every one of our specially designed eco
tourism programs. With varying package lengths to
choose from, Misr Sinai makes sure that not one aspect
of Egypt's
greatness goes undiscovered.
