Day 01: Upon
arrival at airport, assistance through procedures by
Misr Sinai tours representative.
Driving through the desert to our destination at the
first night. Our first night is spent in a Bedouin
tent around Wadi Ghazala area; we have a
traditional meal and camp out under the stars.

| Day
02: We
wake with the sun and enjoy a cup of Bedouin herbal
tea. After breakfast we drive to St. Catherine Monastery
situated at the foot of Mount Sinai. A 6th
century Monastery that houses one of the most
important icons collection on earth. In addition to
the biblical site of the Burning Bush and Moses well.
After the Monastery lunch in a near by restaurant and
a chance to freshen up. In the early afternoon we set
climbing Mount Sinai, a sacred mountain for believers
of the three main monotheistic religions, where God
gave Moses the Ten Commandments. We climb
three quarters of the way up to Elijah’s plateau where
we camp for the night under the stars.

Day
03:
We rise at 4:00 am to climb the
final section of the mountain. We arrive at the summit
– 7.500 feet above the sea level – in
time for a spectacular sunrise over the mountains of
south Sinai. Time for some tea on the top then we
return down the mountain- either by the camel path or
the “Steps of
Repentance”. We have breakfast at the restaurant
and have time to freshen up. Late morning we meet our
Bedouin camel drivers and guide. We load up the camels
with our luggage and head off walking into the
mountains. The first port of our walk takes us through
the Bedouin village of Melga and
then we start climbing up through the hills. We stop
en route to have lunch and our first camp is in Wadi Zawateen.
We all find a bed for the night and settle around the
camp fire for dinner. We wrap up warm and snuggle
into our sleeping bags for the night.

04: Again,
we wake with the sun and the smell of the
Bedouin cooking bread on the open fire. After
breakfast we tidy up our camp and head off walking
through Wadi Tinia and Wadi Abu Twaita.
We have a steep descent down to the beautiful desert
pools of
Galt El-Azrak (which literally means “Black
Pool”). We have a chance to swim in the cool pools
and we have lunch here. In the afternoon we walk
through Wadi Talaa to Farsh Romana
where we have our second camp.
|
|
Day
05: By now we
have become very used to the mountain routine and we
leave our camp to walk through Naqab Baharia to the
fresh springs at Ain El Negila. Then climb to the top
Gabal Bab (6850 feet) and have panoramic views of the
Sinai Peninsula, including the Gulf of Suez and the
Gulf of Aqaba. We spend some time taking in the view
and then return down to Ain El-Negila for lunch. We have a good walk in the afternoon to wadi
jebal where we make our third and final camp. This
camp is often visited by wield donkeys in the middle
of the night – so we’ll need to hide away all our
foodstuffs!
|
|
Day
06: We thank
our Bedouin friends for their help, take some group
photographs and head back toward St. Catherine village
through Wadi Zawateen. When we arrive back we have an
opportunity to have a ride on the camels – a weird
experience! Then we have lunch and drive east through
the mountains to the Gulf of Aqaba coast. We drive
north through Nuweibaa to Salah El-Din
village, our
home for the next two nights. We have an opportunity
to have a shower – a welcome experience

|
Day
07: A
day to unwind. The hotel is located on a
beautiful beach, beside some spectacular coral
reefs. We have a chance to snorkel among the
coral and tropical fish, play beach football and
volleyball and simply sunbathe. After five
nights sleeping under the stars we have a
well-deserved rest.

|
|
Day
08: There
is a chance for a final swim and we have lunch
at the hotel. After lunch we leave our hotel and
drive back to the airport (Sharm Taba border Or Newibaa)
